How to convert JPG to TIFF
- Choose JPG files up to 20 MB.
- Use an unlocked DOCX file and review the supported content limits.
- Review the conversion report and download the TIFF result.
Where this file comes from
Phone cameras and photo editors create JPEG pictures. JPEG has already used lossy compression, so a new container cannot restore discarded detail.
What changes in the conversion
The first image frame becomes an uncompressed, 8-bit RGBA TIFF with unassociated alpha. Image dimensions and supported transparency survive. Original metadata, profiles, animation, and higher color depth are removed. TIFF can be much larger than the source and does not restore detail already lost.
Size limits and browser notes
- Accepts .jpg, .jpeg, .jfif files up to 20 MB each.
- You can convert several files at once; they download together as one ZIP.
- Everything runs in your browser, so very large files depend on your device's memory.
Modern browser required. Images are limited to 8192 pixels per side and 16 megapixels. TIFFs allow at most 50 pages and 32 megapixels total. AVIF input needs a native AVIF decoder.
FAQ
Is the TIFF compressed?
No. The output is an uncompressed TIFF with 8 bits per color channel and an alpha channel. Check compatibility with your destination application.
Will my file be uploaded?
No. Processing runs on your device after the required converter libraries load. File contents and names are not sent to a server.
What should I check after conversion?
Open the downloaded file in your target application and check dimensions, transparency, colors, and any removed metadata.
